SUCCESS STORIES

LEAD alumni credit the coaching and feedback they received through the program with helping them advance their careers.

“I highly recommend the North Texas LEAD program for job seekers (…) I had some wonderful job interviews with a NTL employer, and even though they did not lead to a job offer, they positioned me to succeed at other interviews, which led to a great job offer within 90 days of becoming an endorsed candidate!”

“North Texas LEAD was a great resource in helping me find employers that were hiring during my time of transition. It was my first time being laid-off and without a job, so I was overwhelmed and concerned. I really appreciate you all for that. North Texas LEAD endorsed me for my current role at Trinity Metro. I have now been here a year as the Sales and Business Outreach Manager.  Thank you for all your assistance!”

“The North Texas LEAD program was an invaluable opportunity to interface and build a network with industry professionals, to whom I might otherwise have never gotten access. Thanks to the training, support and guidance of Gyna Bivens, the North Texas LEAD staff and sponsors, I gained the polish and confidence needed to get to the next level in a position of management with DFW International Airport.”

“The networking opportunities and career resources that LEAD provided were invaluable to me and helped to align my skill set with a great institution of higher learning in Texas Christian University. Thank you Gyna, Stephanie and Stephen and the entire North Texas LEAD organization for all of your hard work and dedication.”

Together We Can Win

The unacceptable death of Mr. George Floyd in Minneapolis has compelled people in communities across the globe to speak out against systemic racism. The Centers for Disease Control alarmed our country years ago when it addressed homicide as a leading cause of death among African American males. Whether dying while in police custody or by other means of violence, it is a topic America must address. There must be room at the table for us all to join in this discussion to tackle systemic and institutional racism.

While North Texas LEAD is not a civil rights or social justice organization, it is important we remain committed to connecting top diverse talent with employers who foster an environment of inclusion, opportunities for advancement and respect.

Our founding CEOs knew focused action steps would be needed to bring greater diversity to their leadership teams. Corporate partners of North Texas LEAD have encouraged the hiring of diverse talent. Because of their commitment to diversity, North Texas LEAD candidates serve in management and executive level positions. North Texas LEAD’s Human Resources Executives Network focuses on strategies that enhance the appreciation of diversity in the workplace.

We continue to be guided by the vision of Retired Radio Shack CEO, Len Roberts who once said “Fort Worth will never be considered a world class city until people of all colors are able to live, work and enjoy the quality of life they choose.”

We offer hope that cities across our North Texas region and beyond will achieve the world class status as described by Mr. Roberts.
